Dear Members, I am delighted to join this prestigious group and hope I can learn from the many Pagoda masters on this site. Last year I purchased an Italian delivered 1/1964 230SL in 050 white with red interior. It is a delightful 4 speed and has been well maintained mechanically. I do not have its data card however a full history comes with it so I have learnt that I am it’s fifth owner. If anyone knows how I could acquire its data card from Europe Mercedes, I would be delighted. Any other friendly and helpful advice on how best to maintain this beautiful car and get the best out of this Forum would be appreciated. Many thanks, dave
Dave, with respect to the data card, you can get them by contacting the Mercedes classic center either in Germany or in the US. You will have to provide prove of ownership (title) and they will email you a copy of the data card. These days, I believe the charge around $ 150 for their service. Dirk
Hallo Dave, Welcome to the Group. Very nice car. Greetings to Adelaide. If you have questions, please let me know. Best regards Sebastian
Hello Dave, Great to have you on board. In September I saw your colleagues in Henley Beach and a on a wonderful beach closeby to Adelaide. Our daughter she lives in Henley Beach und her husband is working in the RAH. If I will come to Adelaide I will let you know. By the way, living in Australia would be much better if you would drive on the correct side of the street. Kind regards from Düsseldorf Carlo
Many thanks for the warm welcome to your club. As you know it is a delight to be the custodian of a Pagoda, long my dream car. As I have now had time to look through the site, I should have mentioned, my German is primitive, so you will need to tolerate my English, which I have also been accused of being primitive Dave
One big time advantage of such a forum is, not having to listen to 'slang' - I guess, your writing ain't primitive and that's all, we get. Cheers
Hi Dave, As Detlef already mentioned the is basically a German Pagode site. However there are some Members that are eager to practice their English. Some members here also are members of a English Pagode site. The site name is Pagode Sl Group Inc. Its is a International site with some 1,500 Full members from all around the world. There are some 90 members from Australia and 5 are from the Adelaide area. While this site is a great site and members here are very helpful, I think you also need something more closer to your area were you live. For example, were people meet for coffee ar a weekend drive, what shop the use when the need arises etc. So while you cannot access the Memberlist of the site until you are a Full member, I made you a list of Full and Associate Australian members. Here is the link for the Pagoda SL Group ----> sl113.org Have a look around I think you might like it. Rolf Dieter Kanada
Thank you for the warm welcome Rolf and fellow members. Your comments are very wise advice and I will certainly join the SL113 group as a Full Member. Agreed, a local community is needed and I am fortunate enough to have an excellent mechanic who has supported my mechanical journey although meeting with other Pagoda owners in this part of the world is indeed rare! If there are any from Adelaide who read this, please feel free to reach out to me for a coffee catch up. Thanks again Rolf, Dave
